We are keen to recruit several more volunteers to help with our weekly parents and babies sessions, Let's Talk Babies, with our Storytime reading sessions in local nurseries and developing a new service, reading with pupils in primary schools. If you are interested, please phone or email using the contact details at the top of the page.

Authors including Sir Michael Morpurgo and Malorie Blackman have written an open letter urging the government to invest in early years reading.

We welcome our new Coordinator, Naomi Humes and our new Schools Liaison Officer, Stacey Palmer to the team.

Quotes

"The LTR project will, in the long term, be transformational for our pupils":

"I love these books with mum at bedtime. We read some of the words together but mostly mum reads and I get to listen to the stories."

"We had a very busy session, well attended by parents & carers & they made the session very engaging & fun for all. A lovely visual story with lots of props. Lots of fun voices, very engaging. A great event to get everyone reading!"

"We use the Ipswich Library occasionally but will get down and borrow some more books. Very inspiring."

"We had a good turn out of parents, childminders, grandparents and siblings. The readers did well to keep a large number of children engaged. The children really enjoyed the use of props and being allowed to hold them as well. The singing was great and everyone joined in, it made it fun. Feedback from parents and one of our trustees was very positive and everyone enjoyed the session. Thank you so much and we look forward to welcoming you back again!"
