LTR Successfully supports Summer in a Box Project

At short notice, in June, LTR was asked by Suffolk County Council to put together book-bags and associated activities for 933 disadvantaged children across Suffolk. Despite a very short timescale of a few weeks and the restrictions of lock-down, the team was able to rise to the challenge.
In all, 1866 books were obtained and made up into 933 packages, including activity sheets for each book, crayons/pens and drawing/writing pads and book-marks.
This was a pretty giant task, completed over several days by a very small set of volunteers operating within the Covid19 rules.
We hope that the packs helped the children cope with a summer under restricted conditions, and encouraged them away from their computer/phone screens, at least for a while!!
