Storytimes

Collaborating with 38 nurseries and playgroups in Ipswich

To engage with parents of 2 to 5-year-olds, we visit 38 playgroups and nurseries across the town, including Children's Centres, and these visits are currently termly, but we hope to be able to resource half-termly, or even more frequent visits.

During these visits we demonstrate to parents and staff the power of reading to children, how much they love books, and how to read successfully, including using puppets and songs. We call this Storytime. These visits are carried out by our team of dedicated volunteers.

These volunteer led sessions are under an hour long every term, and invite parents and guardians to stay and enjoy:

  • Stories
  • Songs
  • Library books with your little ones.

My daughter loves the books from Let's Talk Reading. The one she got for Christmas 2024 about 'My Body' is her favourite.

Very thankful to have this available for my son. He adores looking at books and being read to and for Let's Talk Reading to come into his preschool is very worthwhile.
